Recently a friend suggested I rent a Cadillac Escalade in Fort Worth from DFW Elite Auto Rental.  He knew that I fly to major cities in Texas on business.  He recommended DFW Elite’s white glove service as the ideal way to secure hassle-free luxury transportation.


When I checked, I found that DFW Elite Auto Rental also serves Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.  These locations met my needs perfectly, so on my next trip, I decided to rent a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. I booked the rental by phone, and as I expected, got excellent customer service.  The Fort Worth, TX luxury car rental company advised me they would deliver the SUV and pick it up when I was finished.


When my business was complete in Dallas, I kept the Cadillac Escalade rental for an extra day.  My customers had commented on the headroom, legroom and full-size luxury of the Escalade.  The sharp chrome exterior design, the sleek walnut finish, and the padded leather interior also caught their attention.  They appreciated the automatic air conditioning and the automatic start, nice features on a hot July day in Texas.


Prior to taking the luxury SUV on the road, I had done a little research on the Cadillac Escalade and found that the Cadillac Escalade owns one-third of the American luxury SUV market. GM engineers redesigned it for 2007 with a stiffer frame and coil over shock front suspension to give it even better handling.  In addition, GM’s twenty-two inch tires and stability control system, activated by the vehicle’s pitch, provide rollover avoidance protection. Not only is it an extraordinarily comfortable luxury SUV, but the Cadillac Escalade is also a very safe vehicle.


Cruising north from Dallas, the first thing I noticed about the black Escalade was the quick response of the 6.0-liter 403 horsepower engine.  The shorter first gear ratio of the six-speed transmission gives the Cadillac SUV rental surprising punch from a standstill. Perhaps I should not have been surprised. After all, fans of the elite SUV know that the Escalade has a 100 hp advantage over the Lincoln Navigator and has excellent acceleration for a 5793-pound vehicle.


I cranked up the standard 10 speaker Bose digital surround sound and hit the gas.  I felt as if I were on the back of a huge black leopard.  The Escalade bounded forward as I sank into the leather seat.  I turned west and drove through an area of low hills and tight curves to see how the Escalade would perform. The StabiliTrack stability system kept the brawny SUV perfectly centered.  I could feel the G forces, but the Cadillac SUV, nimble as a cat, hugged the road. Regardless of road conditions, the Escalade handles flawlessly. It’s a joy to drive.


I turned southeast, cruising along smoothly.  The 74.3 inch height of the vehicle and the smooth ride gave me the feeling I was flying above the roadway. I noticed some heads turned as I passed.  I suspect the newly designed grill and tasteful chrome accents of the 2007 Escalade were making me the envy of the road. More than a few smiles expressed the unspoken wish to be the driver of my Dallas luxury SUV rental.


I used the car that evening to take a friend to dinner.  She was impressed with the elegant styling of the Escalade and the well-appointed interior. Forbes praised the Escalade as having the nicest interior of any American car.  I felt has chosen a luxury SUV that was equally capable of impressing clients and serving as elegant transportation for an evening out in Dallas.


Just as promised, DFW Elite Auto Rental representative picked up the Escalade from my hotel. It’s a luxury SUV that I did not want to give back.  In my book, the 2007 Cadillac Escalade rental has the regal style and exciting performance to earn the title “King of the Road.”
